The second most important contributing factor is how many other vehicles are included with your shipment and in what order they are loaded on and off of the carrier. For example, it only takes a truck approximately 5 days to travel from New York to Los Angeles. If your vehicle is the last one to be picked up in New York and the first one to be delivered in Los Angeles, transit time will be minimal. If, however, you are the first vehicle the carrier picks up in New York and your are the last vehicle delivered in the Los Angeles area, then transit time will be the maximum for that shipment. Please keep these factors in mind when considering the transport of your vehicle. In other words, a measure of flexibility is required on the part of the shipper for both pick-up and delivery. As a result of these factors, carriers appreciate at least a three-day window for pick-up and delivery. Please have no more than 1/4 tank of fuel (the carriers really appreciate the savings in gross vehicle weight), remove all personal items from vehicle, repair any chips or cracks, remove any added equipment, and make sure your vehicle is prepared for changing weather conditions.
